Rosalyn Robot is a soft sci-fi comic with elements of psychological horror. The idea was beamed into my brain on March 23rd, 2024. I have been working on it on-and-off since then, when not interrupted by school, work, or other projects. This is one of the ideas I feel most passionate about and hope to be able to complete.
The story takes place in a retro-futuristic world in which humans have colonized other planets in the solar system. An international group of scientists founded a research colony on Venus many years ago, began mining silica and other materials on Mars, and declared independence from the governing political powers on the Earth. Now that interplanetary transportation has become more sophisticated, the United States sees the Sovereign State of Venus as a potential competitor in the extraction and distribution of natural resources, and are attempting to secure control of the mines on Mars. Meanwhile, Mars miners and other workers, who are mostly Latinamerican immigrants and their descendants, are revolting against both Venusian and American forces. A second wave of immigrants (most of them American expatriates) to Venus, known as the Venus Republicans, are attempting to establish their own community on the planet, which they hope will function as a tax haven.
The deuteragonists of the story are Ignacio, a young man
living on Earth, and Rosalyn, a robot built on Venus with materials mined on Mars.
