Zachary Monkey is a little boy monkey who is very kind and sensitive. He can be quiet sometimes and is a daydreamer. He is a "go with the flow" kind of guy, although he sometimes has reservations and worries. He always wants to do what is best. His best friend, Yakob, is adventurous and often acts on impulse. He can be a contrarian and insensitive to how others feel at times, but is mostly looking to have fun. Zachary and Yakob love to play outside; they love music, and they love hanging out.

Zachary comics are enjoyed by audiences of all ages, but are decidedly not "kids' comics". They are about nostalgia and childhood and the deep feelings of melancholy and contentment that are felt by both children and adults. They are comics that take place against backdrops that are reminiscent of my childhood and of the midcentury comics that I love, mostly Little Lulu and Donald Duck.
