WELCOME TO JOSEFINALAND
I am artist and cartoonist Josefina Bovee. I am from Santa Cruz, California, and have also lived in Oregon and Monterey County. My comics are character-driven and atmospheric. My biggest inspiration in comic books is the work of Carl Barks. I'm really into entertainment and pop culture history, especially animation and comics history, but also the history of popular music, folk music, theater, and film. I'm also interested in all kinds of natural history and have deep environmentalist values. I try to keep the natural world in mind in everything I do.
My favorite animals are monkeys and apes, but I also like insects, small mammals, birds, and pretty much everything. My iNaturalist handle is finimonkeyflower if you want to see my photos of animals, plants, etc.
